Audiobooks
AI audiobook generator
Upload a manuscript or ebook. FullCastBook finds the chapters, casts a voice for every character, and exports an M4B with chapter markers, an MP3 or a ZIP.
Lewis Carroll
Alice's Adventures in Wonderland
Alice asks the grinning Cheshire Cat for directions — and gets none.
The Cat only grinned when it saw Alice. It looked good-natured, she thought; still it had very long claws and a great many teeth, so she felt it ought to be treated with respect.

How it works
Audiobook maker: from file to finished book in four steps
Upload the book
Drop in your manuscript or ebook as EPUB, PDF, DOCX or TXT, or paste the text. Files must be DRM-free, and scanned PDFs need a text layer to be read.Find the chapters
Chapters are read from the table of contents or the headings, and every speaking character is detected, so each line knows who is talking.Cast and direct
Give the narrator and each character a distinct voice, then direct the delivery with notes in brackets like [whisper] and sound tags like [laugh] or [sigh].Export the audiobook
Download an M4B with chapter markers, one MP3 for the whole book, or a ZIP with a file per chapter. Keep the same cast for the next book in the series.
Formats
Ebook to audiobook: what goes in, what comes out
Bring the file you already have, or paste the text. The only limits are DRM-protected store downloads and scanned PDFs without a text layer.
Import

- ZIP with one file per chapter
- Plain audio files with no DRM added
Features
An AI audiobook creator built for books, not clips

A voice per character
Every speaking character is detected and given a distinct voice, plus a narrator. Keep the same cast across every book in a series.Common ebook formats
EPUB, PDF, DOCX, TXT and Markdown, or paste the text straight in. Store downloads must be DRM-free, and scanned PDFs need a text layer to be read.Chapters that hold their shape
Chapters are read from the table of contents or the headings, so every scene stays inside its chapter. A file with no contents page is split on its chapter headings.M4B with real chapter markers
Each chapter becomes a marker in the M4B, with its title, so listeners can jump straight to any chapter in their audiobook app, even hours into the book.Pick every voice yourself
Keep the automatic casting or swap any character to another voice. Give the narrator and leads premium voices, and the minor roles standard ones.
Direct every line
Write the delivery you want in brackets, like [whisper, like sharing a secret], and add sound tags such as [laugh], [sigh] or [breathe] right in the text.
Genres
AI audiobooks for every genre
A thriller needs a different cast than a bedtime story. Pick a genre to see a sample AI audiobook line-up, then recast any role in the studio.

Fantasy
A steady narrator for the long road, a raider who sounds like one, and a sorceress you won't forget.
Premium voicesClick a role to hear its voice.

Who it's for
An AI audiobook generator for authors and readers

Self-published authors
Turn the DOCX or EPUB you already sell into an audio edition, chapter by chapter, at your own pace.
Fiction with a cast
Web novels, LitRPG and fanfic: give the hero, the villain and the narrator their own voices, and keep them the same all series long.
Podcasts and stories
Turn a script, a serial or a bedtime story into an episode, with a narrator and a distinct voice for each character.
Readers and listeners
Have a DRM-free EPUB or a public-domain classic you'd rather listen to? Bring it in and let the chapters split themselves.
Compare
AI audiobooks with a full cast vs the usual ways
There are three usual ways to turn a book into audio. Here is how full-cast AI audiobooks from FullCastBook compare with one text-to-speech voice and with hiring narrators, including where a human narrator still wins.
| FullCastBook | Single-voice text-to-speech | Hiring narrators | |
|---|---|---|---|
| A distinct voice for every character | Yes: Automatic | No: One voice for everyone | Yes: With a full-cast budget; usually one narrator voices everyone |
| Direct how any line is delivered | Yes: Notes like [whisper] right in the line | Partly: Limited, or not at all | Yes: In a studio session |
| Fix one line without redoing the chapter | Yes: Regenerate just that line | Yes: Re-run that passage | Re-record pick-ups |
| Chaptered M4B, ready to play | Yes: Built in | Partly: Rarely | Yes: Delivered by the producer |
| A human actor's performance | No: AI voices | No: A synthetic voice | Yes: Their real strength |
| Turnaround | Minutes per chapter | Minutes | Weeks to months |
| Price | From $0.058 per finished minute | Low, but one voice | Quoted per finished hour |

FAQ
AI audiobook generator FAQ
Is this a free AI audiobook generator?
You can start free. The demo on this page plays a full-cast chapter without an account, and a free account (no card) comes with credits to voice a chapter of your own. A whole novel needs a paid plan.
Which ebook formats can I turn into an audiobook?
EPUB, PDF, DOCX and TXT, or paste the text straight in. Files have to be DRM-free, so a locked store download won't open; use a copy you exported yourself. Save older .doc files as DOCX first.
Does it work with scanned PDFs?
No. There is no OCR step, so a PDF made from page images has no text to read. A PDF exported from a word processor has a text layer and uploads fine.
What do I get when I export?
An M4B audiobook with chapter markers, one merged MP3 for the whole book, or a ZIP with one file per chapter. The files are yours. Each store sets its own rules for AI narration, and Audible/ACX doesn't currently accept it, so check before you publish.
How are credits counted for a book?
Generation uses credits, counted by the characters of text that get voiced, so a longer book needs more. The free credits you get on sign-up let you hear the cast on a sample first; a full novel needs a paid plan.
What is the best AI audiobook generator for books with many characters?
Look for one that casts the dialogue, not just the narration. This one detects every speaking character, gives each a distinct voice next to the narrator and keeps the cast for the whole series. English works best today, so try a sample chapter in other languages first.
